Deliver it · Compression

One long HTML page sent three ways: as written, gzipped, and Brotli-compressed. The browser asks with Accept-Encoding, the server answers with Content-Encoding, and the browser unpacks it. The bars are what your browser measured: bytes on the wire against bytes after unpacking.

The photo row shows why images are left alone: a WebP is already compressed, so packing it again saves almost nothing.
